2012-2013 Saanich Braves Junior B Hockey club

November 9, 2012, Victoria, BC - After suffering a bad cut that needed stitches, the Cougar's Graham Zagrodney returned to action, scoring Victoria's second goal of the game in Period 2 on Friday, helping the Cougars defeat the Saanich 6-2.

Why I Chose This Photo: I don't often shoot injured players, but sometimes you just can't resist, especially when blood is involved. Good sports photos are often related to "Cheers" or "Tears" and this one certainly falls in the tears category. As noted above though, the neat part of the story is that the player zipped across the street from the arena to a medical clinic in his gear, got stitched back up and came back into the game to score a key goal in the Cougar's win.
