2011 Victoria Eagles Baseball Club

April 23, 2011, Victoria, BC - Victoria Eagles catcher Daniel Peakman prepares to tag a North Shore runner out at the plate during BC Premier League action Saturday at Lambrick Park in Victoria. The teams would take a 2-2 tie into the tenth inning where the Twins then prevailed in a 5-4 final score.

Why I Chose This Photo: When sports photographers shoot baseball we eagerly hope for two shots to present themselves...the play at the plate and the double play at second base...and then we hope we are in the right position to capture that shot. This is one of those examples and the best "play at the plate" shot I got all year. The ball arrived well in advance of the runner so it was a great chance to capture the catcher's eyes as he prepared to make what he hoped was an easy tag.
