January 20, 2011, Victoria, BC - Kelly Oliveira and Jordan Hockley of Ontario, skate the Junior Dance Free segment at the BMO Skate Canada Junior Nationals in Victoria January 17-20 at Save-on-Foods Memorial Arena. The pair would capture the silver medal in the Junior Dance competition.

Why I Chose This Photo - I had never shot figure skating before and having watched it many times on TV, was never a huge fan (yes I admit it!). But once I was up close and personal to some of the best skaters in the country at this event, it was clear what a physically and mentally demanding sport this is, yet the athletes seem to pull their routines off with very little difficulty while having the time of their lives in doing so. This shot is a simple illustration of this. A couple that is beautifully in sync with each other and clearly showing in their expressions that they are having fun with the routine.
