2015 Boulders Climbing Gym

2015 Boulders Climbing Gym

May 18, 2015, Central Saanich, BC - Speed climber Libor Hroza celebrates after unofficially crushing the world speed climbing record during the 2015 Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC) National Climbing Championships at The Boulders Climbing Gym in Central Saanich.

WHY I CHOSE THIS PHOTO: Another thrill of victory photo. Speed climbers train hard and climb up a 15-metre vertical wall in less than 6 seconds. Libor had just crushed the world record, going up the wall in an astonishing 5.39 seconds (the official record is 5.6 seconds) and while it was an unofficial record, his reaction said it all about what it meant to accomplish such a feat.
