October 6, 2014, Victoria, BC - The Victoria Royals host the Portland Winterhawks in WHL action Monday night at Save-on-Foods Memorial Arena in Victoria. The Royals would cruise to a 6-2 win.

WHY I CHOSE THIS PHOTO: Using a super wide angle lens for hockey, especially when positioned down in the corners can often yield some results that are more interesting than normal. That was what I was hoping for this game and was rewarded with this shot that really elongates the player in the foreground, but also provides some great perspective of the ice beyond him.
