Why I Chose This Photo: In shooting any sport that I have not shot before (as I mentioned in an earlier photo, this was one of the first games I'd shot), one often struggles with the timing of shots and following the action. I found this especially true when trying to get a good capture of a "header" attempt, a common play in a soccer game. After numerous failed efforts, I finally came away with this shot, one that shows the physicality of the play and the effort the players expend when going up to head a ball.
