July 6-8, 2012 Sidney, BC - A Nanaimo Pirates catcher comes up throwing at the 2012 Tadpole Regional Baseball Championships at Rotary park in Sidney. The tournament would be won by the Triangle Rangers as they defeated the Nanaimo Yellow Pirates 10-2 in the final.

Why I Chose This Photo: Generally when you are shooting baseball at the younger age groups, some of the photos can be pretty static as there is not a ton of action. Every so often however you catch a player in a pose or doing an action that makes them appear way older than they are. This is one such photo...this player exhibited excellent form in coming up throwing in an attempt to nail a runner on the bases. The lighting and his eyes also make the photo "pop" for me.
