September 24, 2011, Victoria, BC - A young fan looks on in awe as the Victoria Royals play host to the Vancouver Giants in the first ever Western Hockey League (WHL) home game for the Royals franchise. The sold out crowd of 7,006 at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Arena would not be disappointed as the Royals would defeat the Giants 5-3 for their first win in franchise history.

Why I Chose This Photo - I really liked the reflection of this young fan in the glass and the rapt attention he was giving the game. Another example of great subject matter not having to be on the ice, or field of play so to speak.
